Ratti Gali lake is located in the Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The lake is surrounded by glaciers which fed up with the lake. Lake gets frozen during winters and during summer the glacier melt and fills the lake with clean & fresh blue water.
The lake requires around 3 hours on a jeep then around 5 hours hiking to finally get there. The trekking is difficult but totally worth it. The altitude of the lake is 12,000 feet, it is best for adventure seekers. It located around 70 KM distance from Muzaffarabad, the capital city of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.
Ratti Gali Lake is one of the famous tourist points in Neelum Valley, Pakistan. It requires hiking and trekking, so you should be prepared for it. The view is pretty amazing, it stays cold almost the entire year. So, you must have warm clothes with you. Moreover, there are no hotels or restaurants above the lake, so you must keep eatables with you.
We’ll pick you up according to the decision point in Islamabad at a “Welcome to Pakistan” meeting. We’ll straight away leave for the Ratti Gali Lake. We will be making a stop at Kohala for tea or lunch, depending on the situation. Then we will continue our drive through Muzaffarabad city, which is the capital of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The Road will continue along with the Neelum Valley. We will be taking a Night’s Stay in Keran.
After Breakfast, we will be riding to the Hiking point of Ratti Gali Lake. The Jeep can only reach some point, as the path afterward is a bit rocky with sharp hikes, which is not possible for any vehicle to get over there.
We will begin hiking toward the lake, it can require up to 4 hours, depending on our hiking speed. Members are advised to have packed meals with them, we can also take breaks during the hike to freshen up.
We will be camping at the lake for the night, and the next day we will be getting back. We will be also doing barbecues, bonfires, moreover, members can also swim in the lake.
Next morning, we will be spending some free time at Ratti Gali Lake. Members can also view the beautiful scenic sunrise at Ratti Gali Lake. We will be having breakfast here as well. Around 12 pm we will be hiking back to the hiking point to get on the Jeep 4×4. Then we will be driving to Sharda, we will also stay for the night there.
After taking breakfast at Sharda, we will be visiting and seeing the beautiful Neelum Valley. Then we will be getting back to Islamabad.
