Muzaffarabad is the largest and the capital city of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. It is located in the Muzzafarabad district of Muzzafarbad near Jehlum and Neelam river. The city is surrounded by lush green valleys and mountains.
The city is the gateway to the famous Neelam Valley, Rattigali lake, Kel, Arang Kel, and many more tourist points. These points receive thousands of visitors. As every place has its own significance in terms of natural beauty. There are many places to visit like Red Fort, Quaid-e-Azam lodge, visit Neelam river, Peer Chinasi and many more.
People:
Local people have tradition of get-together among the families. Moreover, locals are kind hearted, humble and hospitable. They are welcoming towards guests and provide them with best of time.
Food:
There are many famous cuisines among the local people of this city. Which are Gushtabay, Bakar-khani, dam aloo, Balti gosht, Yakhni, methi chawal, hareesa and many more. Usage of dry fruits is common among locals, especially in curries. Women love to cook food so they prefer making even the very necessary items. They make desi ghee, ketchup and many more. Kashmiri Pulao is also pretty famous here.
